Gemini Omni Pricing in 2026: What It Actually Costs Per Video

Gemini Omni Team · · Updated June 5, 2026

Before you commit to a Gemini Omni plan, you want to know exactly what you’re getting. Not the headline number the real number: how many videos per month, at what resolution, for what dollar amount. This post breaks it all down with exact math.

The short answer: 1080p 8-second clips cost approximately $1.73 each on Pro and $6.13 each on Starter. 4K clips cost roughly double. Here’s where every number comes from.

The plans

Gemini Omni offers three paid plans. There is no free tier you can browse the dashboard for free, but generation requires a subscription.

PlanMonthly priceCreditsYearly priceAPI access
Starter$49/mo1,200$470/yr (~$39/mo)No
Pro$69/mo4,000$662/yr (~$55/mo)Yes
Premium$119/moUnlimited$1,142/yr (~$95/mo)Yes

Full pricing details, including yearly discount terms, are on the pricing page.

How credits work

Credits are the internal currency for generation. Every job you submit consumes credits based on:

  1. Resolution the biggest cost driver
  2. Duration seconds of video
  3. Model type video, character, or voice

Credits refresh monthly on your billing date. They do not roll over unused credits expire.

Exact credit costs by resolution

Text-to-Video and Character Video

Resolution4 sec5 sec6 sec7 sec8 sec (default)9 sec10 sec
720p37475666758494
1080p7594113131150169188
4K150188225263300338375

The formula is approximately: credits = (resolution_multiplier × duration_seconds × 9.375)

Where the resolution multiplier is 1× for 720p, 2× for 1080p, and 4× for 4K.

AI Voice (Text-to-Speech)

Voice generation is priced by character count:

Script lengthCredits
Up to 500 characters10
501–1,000 characters15
1,001–2,500 characters25
2,501–5,000 characters40

Lip-Sync (Voice + Video Combined)

When you attach a video to the voice model for lip-sync, you pay:

  • Voice credits (from table above) + 50% surcharge for the rendering

Example: 1,000-character script lip-synced to a 10-second 1080p clip = 15 (voice) + 8 (surcharge) = 23 credits.

Videos per month by plan

Based on the default case: 1080p, 8-second clip (150 credits each).

PlanCreditsVideos/month at 1080p 8sCost per video
Starter ($49)1,2008$6.13
Pro ($69)4,00026$2.65
Premium ($119)UnlimitedUnlimited

For 4K 8-second clips (300 credits each):

PlanCreditsVideos/month at 4K 8sCost per video
Starter ($49)1,2004$12.25
Pro ($69)4,00013$5.31
Premium ($119)UnlimitedUnlimited

The break-even point for Premium

Premium at $119/mo makes financial sense when you’d otherwise spend more on Pro top-ups. At Pro rates ($69 for 4,000 credits), one “extra” block of 4,000 credits costs $69. If you’re regularly consuming more than ~5,800 credits/month (about 38 videos at 1080p), unlimited is cheaper.

For agencies doing daily or bulk generation 50+ clips/month Premium pays for itself in the first week.

Yearly pricing reality check

The yearly plans offer roughly a 20% discount. Exact savings:

PlanMonthly totalYearly priceSavings
Starter$588/yr$470/yr$118 saved
Pro$828/yr$662/yr$166 saved
Premium$1,428/yr$1,142/yr$286 saved

If you know you’ll use Gemini Omni consistently for more than 10 months, yearly is the rational choice.

How to make your credits go further

Draft at 720p, final at your target resolution

720p clips cost 50% of 1080p and 25% of 4K. The model quality is the same you’re just rendering at lower resolution. Use 720p for all iteration:

  1. Test your prompt at 720p (75 credits for 8s)
  2. Refine until the motion and composition are right
  3. Run one final at 1080p or 4K (150 or 300 credits)

For a 4K final, this workflow costs 75 + 300 = 375 credits versus 300 × 4 iterations = 1,200 credits if you iterate at 4K. You save 825 credits per prompt you develop.

Generate at 4 seconds for A/B testing

Half duration = half credits. When testing whether a cinematic or documentary style works better for your project, generate 4-second clips:

  • 720p 4s = 37 credits (test)
  • 1080p 8s = 150 credits (final)

Test four style variants for 148 credits total, then commit 150 credits to the winner. Same creative result, 63% fewer credits spent.

Re-run from /history instead of re-typing

When you find a prompt that produces reliable output, use the Re-run button in /history rather than opening the Playground and retyping the prompt. Re-running preserves the exact settings resolution, duration, model, and prompt. It also protects you from typos that produce subtly different output.

Check the credit estimate before every generation

The Playground displays the exact credit cost of your current settings before you click Generate. If you’ve accidentally bumped to 4K when you meant 1080p, the estimate will catch it. This takes two seconds and can save 150 credits per misclick.

Voice scripts: stay under character thresholds

The credit tiers for voice generation jump at 500, 1,000, and 2,500 characters. If your script is 520 characters, trimming it to 499 saves 5 credits per generation. Small savings, but they add up across dozens of voiceovers.

Comparing Gemini Omni pricing to alternatives

Gemini Omni is not the cheapest option for one-off generation, but it’s the most cost-effective for volume and the only option with a public API.

Sora 2 (OpenAI):

  • ChatGPT Plus ($20/mo): roughly 20–50 clips/month, no published quota
  • ChatGPT Pro ($200/mo): ~200 clips/month at higher limits, ~$1/clip
  • No API, no character consistency, max 1080p

Veo 3 (Google):

  • Google One AI Premium ($20–40/mo)
  • No published clip quota
  • No API, no bulk generation, max 1080p

Gemini Omni at Pro ($69):

  • ~26 clips/month at 1080p 8s
  • API included
  • Character consistency included
  • 4K available
  • All three model types (video + character + voice) on one balance

For teams generating more than 20 clips per month with any API or automation requirement, Gemini Omni Pro is the cost-effective choice. See the full comparison with Sora 2 and Veo 3 for the full feature-by-feature breakdown.

Credit top-ups

If you exhaust your monthly credits before the billing period resets, you can purchase credit top-ups from the billing page. Top-ups use the same per-credit rate as your plan tier and do not reset your billing date.

Top-up availability is plan-gated: Starter plans can purchase up to 2× their monthly allotment; Pro plans can purchase up to 5× their allotment; Premium plans never need top-ups (unlimited generation).

How credits are deducted

Credits are deducted when a generation succeeds not when you submit. If a job fails (model error, timeout, or content policy rejection), no credits are consumed. You can verify this in /history failed jobs show “0 credits” in the cost column.

This means you can freely experiment without fear of wasting credits on broken jobs. The only risk is submitting a job that succeeds but produces output you don’t like which is why the 720p draft workflow above matters.

Start generating

The fastest way to understand the credit system in practice is to use the Playground and watch the credit estimate counter change as you adjust resolution and duration sliders. It’s the most intuitive pricing calculator you have.

If you haven’t signed up yet, create your account and choose the plan that fits your monthly clip volume. The pricing page includes a side-by-side plan comparison.
